We started Ploy in April of this year with no customers, no product and no idea. Since then it has been an absolute rollercoaster to get to where we are today and we couldn't be more proud of the product and company we've built during this short 9 months (although it feels like it's been closer to 9 years!). We started out trying to build a SaaS shadow IT discovery platform and have finished the year with an end to end SaaS management solution helping modern IT orgs reign in their SaaS security, cost and operations.

We couldn't of done it without all the people and customers who have taken the time to jump on call with us, offer advice, suggestions and feedback that ultimately shaped the product and company to where we are today.

We've finished the year strong with a lot of new features and updates - let's dive straight into it

📝 Custom questions for surveys

One of the most requested features we've received at Ploy has been the ability to ask custom questions on your surveys which we're very excited to announce has just been released

You can now ask your employee's pretty much any question you can think of to help ensure you have the right information when it comes to managing your SaaS:

• Yes/No

• Button Selects

• Dropdowns

• Range (e.g. on a scale of 1 - 10)

• Short / Long text input

• Email + URL

• Date + Time

• File uploads

You can now also 1-click save these responses to any field in your managed apps as well, streamlining your data collection efforts.

👥 Okta + MS Entra/AD group manipulation

Part of our vision is to be able to automate as much as possible when it comes to managing your SaaS. Being able to manage group membership plays a big role in this vision which is why we're really excited to announce that we've added support for adding/removing users from groups in Okta and Microsoft Entra.

Customers are already using this alongside surveys to automate account provision and deprovisioning for SCIM enabled applications, saving IT teams hours a week (and $$$).

🕵️‍♂️ Shadow IT 2.0

When we started Ploy, this was the entire product. Now it's just one part of the Ploy platform.

With the addition of 'managed apps' coming out of beta, we're now able to properly transition the current apps page into a dedicated Shadow IT feature, making it ridiculously easy for you to quickly identify and investigate newly dedicated applications across your business.

👍 New HRIS Integrations: BambooHR + Cezanne

As always, we're constantly adding new integrations to the platform. This month we've added two new HRIS integrations: BambooHR and Cezanne.

And a whole heap of other stuff

As always there's also been a whole heap of other new functionality added to the platform;

• Groups field type: You can now have a group as a custom field on a managed app, which can be used to show which group managed SCIM / SSO for example

• Survey employee filtering: Search for employees when sending a survey

• Okta groups: We now pull in more information from your Okta groups and their memberships

• Survey inbox: Survey inbox now shows what channel a survey was sent via

• All fields: You can now see and update every field for your managed apps in the preview window

• First detected user: New discovered apps will have no assigned owner by default and instead have a ‘first detected user’

• Generic tasks In workflows now allow for variables and dynamic assigning

• Workflows: Permission risk score field in flows now is ‘High’ | ‘Medium’ | ‘Low’ instead of a number

• Users: Inviting a user to Ploy no longer requires them to accept the invite via email

• Authentication: You can now see and manage all your users signed in sessions to the Ploy dashboard, ensuring no bad actors have gained access

• Member counts: Members screen now shows total number of members when filtering

• Internal/External users: Now declare what email domains belong to internal users. Users not matching this will now have a special icon next to their name throughout Ploy
