WHAT PLOY DOES
Sync organization membersEvery member of the connected organization arrives in Ploy as an identity, with their email address.
READ
Read each member's organization roleThe role, admin or member, rides as the entitlement on the member's access to Buildkite.
READ
Map the organization as a resourceThe connected organization lands as an account resource carrying its own membership, so several connected organizations stay separate.
READ
Map teams and their membersEvery team lands as a resource, with who belongs to it and whether they are a member or a maintainer.
READ
Invite people to the organizationPloy invites a person by email. They become a member once they accept.
WRITE
Change a member's organization rolePloy moves a member between admin and member, so admin access can be raised and lowered again.
WRITE
Remove members from the organizationPloy removes a member from the organization. Their Buildkite account and other organizations are left alone.
WRITE
Grant and revoke team access from the resource pagePloy adds people to a team and removes them, from the team's own page in Ploy. Access granted there is always the member team role.
WRITE
2.1WHAT IT UNLOCKS

Three jobs this connector does on day one

JOINERS

An approved request becomes an invite

Ploy invites the engineer to the Buildkite organization by email and adds them to the teams their pipelines need.

REVIEWS

Who can run and change your pipelines

Organization admins and team maintainers are named on each row, so a reviewer sees who holds control over CI.

LEAVERS

Out of the organization on the last day

Offboarding removes the member, which also cuts their API access to the organization.

2.3

SETUP

TYPICALLY 10 MINUTES
STEP 01

Create an API access token

From an organization admin account, create a token with access to the organization and the read_organizations and read_teams scopes. For writes, also add write_organizations, write_organization_invitations and write_teams.

STEP 02

Choose the organization

Pick the organization from the list the token can see. Add another connection for another organization.

STEP 03

Watch the first sync

Ploy tests the token against the organization, then members, roles and teams land in the graph.
